between being alone

and being lonely

yet it doesn't matter

when you're both

I used to suffocate you

isn't it just ironic?

I need to get out of Vegas

I need to see a real tree

in full fall foliage

breathe fresh air

that smells of snow

and mountaintops

feel fresh rain

falling hard upon my forehead

and lips

listen to wildlife

other than crickets

and cicadas

i hold these dreams

i know they exist

i've lived them before

i can and will again

someday

hopefully soon

(can't wait to see Seattle with virgin eyes)
